It’s nearly time!

Seed collecting season is shortly upon us. We’ll be visiting a number of stunning woodlands in and around Bath to collect seeds; berries, wings, nuts 🌰🫐

We’ll be starting on Tuesday 10 September and collecting on a weekly basis. If you’d like to join us please check the link in our bio for all the dates and locations.

We’re looking for an enthusiastic individual to manage our network of 17 community tree nurseries, the new central nursery in Twerton, Bath and to oversee our tree growing process.

If you are passionate about the environment, experienced in horticulture, and enjoy working with communities, we’d love to hear from you.

A huge effort was made by the More Trees team to finish erecting the polytunnel so it was ready for our official opening evening 💪👏. More on that journey to come!

This meant we had the perfect venue to showcase all our work in a colourful picture gallery. Photos were displayed from one side of the polytunnel to the other and gave us an opportunity to appreciate everything we’ve accomplished as well as all the people who’ve been part of that. Great to see and to take it all in! 🫶

We were thrilled to welcome everyone to the opening of our new central nursery recently in Redland Park, Twerton.

Joined by our volunteers, supporters, funders and friends from the community, we enjoyed a lovely, sunny evening celebrating not only our new site but the story and successes of More Trees to date.

A HUGE thank you to everyone who helped with preparing the site for the opening including erecting the polytunnel. We haven’t finished yet and are fundraising to complete the set up of the new nursery.

There is much to say about the evening so look out for our next post!

As we reach the end of the school year, it’s a g

As we reach the end of the school year, it’s a good time to reflect on our schools programme.

We have 6 tree nurseries in schools in Bath and Radstock: Fosse Way School, Oldfield Park Junior School, St Mark’s School, St Michael’s Junior Church School, Weston All Saints Primary School and new this year, St Andrew’s Church School.

Over the last couple of years the schools’ nurseries have successfully grown nearly 1000 trees which have been used in our planting projects. The programme also includes additional activities to maximise the learning, fun and education benefits for the pupils from growing trees in their school grounds.

A BIG thank you to everyone involved in making it a success and a shout out to our dedicated team: Jon, Charlotte, Jeni and Jo! 🫶💚

We had a very busy day on Thursday at the new central nursery site. Work erecting the polytunnel continued, lots of strimming and raking and a huge effort to dig a deep hole for the compost loo!

We were at our new site this week starting to erect our new polytunnel.

What an effort made by everyone to dig the holes for the foundation tubes! 💪

To say we met with some resistance from a few rocks is an understatement. Two days and lots of crow bar action later and the 14 tubes were cemented in!
