More Trees are looking for enthusiastic contributo More Trees are looking for enthusiastic contributors who share our values and have a strong interest in what we do.

We want to build the capacity of our governance to reflect and align with our values of collaboration, transparency, care and regeneration. Planning the succession of a stronger Board will ensure we are successful moving forward.

Our volunteers are the heart of everything we do - they are More Trees - and have worked tirelessly supporting our work. They have formed meaningful connections with the tree nurseries, the staff and each other. We are looking for Trustees that understand the value of this.

We want to see representation of volunteers on the Board and also want to bring people in with the right values, skills and experience for nurturing collaborative relationships and processes.

We are looking for Trustees that will work with our small but dedicated staff team to shape More Trees governance and strategy, in an open and inclusive approach.

If you have the passion and commitment to join us then we want to hear from you. We can provide support and training, so if you are interested in our work and keen to get involved, but not sure if you have the right experience, do get in touch for an initial chat.

Please see the linktree in our bio for more information and to view a copy of the recruitment pack.

We hope to hear from you!

As we come to the end of this season’s tree plan As we come to the end of this season’s tree planting, More Trees have some whips available to give away.

We have a number of native species available including Oak, Blackthorn, Alder, Beech, Crab Apple, Field Maple, Hawthorn, Silver Birch and Dogwood. A full breakdown of available species is available via our Linktree in our bio.

All the whips have been grown in our community tree nurseries from seeds collected from local woodland. We grow healthy, resilient trees that adapt well to local biodiversity and prevailing weather conditions.

We are seeking donations for the trees, where possible, to support our work.

Trees will be allocated on a first come first served basis and reserved for collection. Please make requests as soon as possible by email to info@moretrees.earth.

This week we visited Peasedown St John Primary sch This week we visited Peasedown St John Primary school to plant some hedging and trees in their school field 🌿🌳.

The planting was funded by BANES council through the support of the local councillor Gavin Heathcote who came and helped with the planting. Thank you to Headteacher, Ruth Noall, for her support in helping make this happen 💚

We were joined by pupils Faith, Emily, Sophie, Harvey, Albie and their Pastoral Support Mentor and nurture team leader, Sarah. The children took to it in no time. Definitely budding green fingers in there! What an amazing job they all did! 👏💚

We planted around 160 shrubs and trees including
alder, crab apple, dogwood, elder, hawthorn, hornbeam, oak, rowan, silver birch, spindle, whitebeam, wild cherry, wild privet and wych elm. A huge mix! 🍃

And a big thanks to Charlotte and Jo from our schools team who supported us 🫶💚

It was a lovely way to spend a sunny morning ☀️🌿🌳💚
Last week we were at the Oval in Bath planting a m Last week we were at the Oval in Bath planting a mini woodland in the Miyawaki method. This involves dense mixed planting of native trees to stimulate growth and tree cover quickly in small spaces. We’re excited to see what happens! 🌳

The planting will soon have a small fence around it to protect the young trees and a gate for visitors to walk through the paths and watch then grow 🌿

We were joined by volunteers from the @cannedwinecompany @bath.mind @curo_group as well as locals, regular tree planting volunteers and some of our dedicated central nursery volunteers.

It was a lovely couple of sunny days☀️and so nice to chat to many people walking in the park about the planting and sharing our excitement about what it will bring 🌸🫐🐝🐛🦋🐦‍⬛🍃🍂

A BIG thank you to all of you! 🫶 A lot of trees planted and mulched in a small area. Great teamwork everyone! 💪

We planted a small woodland of shrubs and native trees on Holcombe Green which will bring a mix of flowers, berries and nuts 🫐🍒🌸🌺

Thank you to everyone who joined us: Curo, Bath in Bloom, Wild about Weston, students from the V-Trees team, regular volunteers and tree planters and a number of local residents 🙏

The trees planted were grown from seed collected from local woodland and grown on at our community and school tree nurseries, including trees grown by pupils at local school WASPS. So great to see them planted around the corner! 💚

Day 2 we planted a long hedge either side of the entrance to the local allotments. This will provide a wonderful habitat for wildlife and produce berries and flowers.

It was a fun and busy couple of days and fantastic to see so many different people come together to improve green spaces for nature and locals.

The van packing after day 2 was a good sign of how much energy had been expended! 😂

Thank you again to everyone involved! 🙏🫶🌿🌳🌸💚
Our volunteers enjoyed a fantastic fruit tree graf Our volunteers enjoyed a fantastic fruit tree grafting workshop at Barrow Mead run by the wonderful @mattmccabe63 🍏💚

Each volunteer was able to graft onto 3 rootstock from scion cut from the various apple trees in Matt’s orchard 🍎🍏
