Volunteer Spotlight – Faris

Faris Attia is usually seen at Thursday sessions at the Hub helping other volunteers processing seeds and ensuring traceability for all our local provenance trees.

How did you get involved with More Trees? I was introduced to More Trees through a seed processing session organised with Grow for Life, a charity that offers therapeutic gardening to horticultural trainees about a year ago.

What other interests and hobbies do you enjoy? I’ve recently started to going to gymnastics at Baskervilles. I was surprised to learn that it’s not just for kids and that adults can have fun doing it too.

What is your favourite film? Jim Jarmusch’s ‘The Limits of Control’.

What is your favourite tree and why? The loofah tree. I always thought that loofahs were sponges from the sea until I found out I had a loofah tree at the back of my home.

If you could change one thing in the world, what would you change? Stop Sandra putting two spaces after every full stop.

If you would like to be next for our Volunteer Spotlight, or nominate someone else, get in touch. We would love to know your story!
